. . .

Prisms formed in Newport News, Virginia, in the Summer of 2006.

Originally a four-member group, they made waves in the Hampton Roads area that fall, performing their first show at Relative Theory Records in December of 2006.  They continued to play out and became a staple of the Norfolk scene.

After losing guitarist John Martin to the West Coast, and drummer Nick Huber to the Peace Corps, Prisms relocated to Washington, DC and began performing as a three-member group, with Evan Slack taking over drum duties.

Heavily influenced by shoegaze bands from the early 1990s, Prisms owns a unique sound combining driving drum beats with layered guitar tones surrounded by dreamlike vocals.

Prisms enjoys long walks on the beach, and a good drink now and then.
